Growing through chaotic intervals

چکیده
We consider a growth model proposed by Matsuyama [K. Matsuyama, Growing through cycles, Econometrica 67 (2) (1999) 335–347] in which two sources of economic growth are present: the mechanism of capital accumulation (Solow regime) and the process of technical change and innovations (Romer regime). We will shown that no stable cycle can exist, except for a fixed point and a cycle of period two. The Necessary and Sufficient conditions for regular or chaotic regimes are formulated. The bifurcation structure of the two-dimensional parameter plane is completely explained. It is shown how the border-collision bifurcation leads from the stable fixed point to pure chaotic regime (which consists either in 4-cyclical chaotic intervals, 2-cyclical chaotic intervals or in one chaotic interval). © 2008 Published by Elsevier Inc. Attractor Based Analysis of Centrally Cracked Plate Subjected to Chaotic Excitation
The presence of part-through cracks with limited length is one of the prevalent defects in the plate structures. Due to the slight effect of this type of damages on the frequency response of the plates, conventional vibration-based damage assessment could be a challenging task. In this study for the first time, a recently developed state-space method which is based on the chaotic excitation is ...
متن کاملConservative chaotic flow generated via a pseudo-linear system
Analysis of nonlinear autonomous systems has been a popular field of study in recent decades. As an interesting nonlinear behavior, chaotic dynamics has been intensively investigated since Lorenz discovered the first physical evidence of chaos in his famous equations. Although many chaotic systems have been ever reported in the literature, a systematic and qualitative approach for chaos generat...
متن کاملChaotic-based Particle Swarm Optimization with Inertia Weight for Optimization Tasks
Among variety of meta-heuristic population-based search algorithms, particle swarm optimization (PSO) with adaptive inertia weight (AIW) has been considered as a versatile optimization tool, which incorporates the experience of the whole swarm into the movement of particles. Although the exploitation ability of this algorithm is great, it cannot comprehensively explore the search space and may ...
متن کاملImage encryption based on chaotic tent map in time and frequency domains
The present paper is aimed at introducing a new algorithm for image encryption using chaotic tent maps and the desired key image. This algorithm consists of two parts, the first of which works in the frequency domain and the second, in the time domain. In the frequency domain, a desired key image is used, and a random number is generated, using the chaotic tent map, in order to change the phase...
متن کاملRobust Coordinated Design of UPFC Damping Controller and PSS Using Chaotic Optimization Algorithm
A Chaotic Optimization Algorithm (COA) based approach for the robust coordinated design of the UPFC power oscillation damping controller and the conventional power system stabilizer has been investigated in this paper. Chaotic Optimization Algorithms, which have the features of easy implementation, short execution time and robust mechanisms of escaping from local optimum, is a promising tool fo...
